My name is John B. MacDonald, and my purpose is to equip and encourage you to become more like Jesus Christ and to live all of life with God-honoring competence and joy.
My content
To further my goal, I develop and distribute practical biblical resources for making disciples. These include multi-media projects, blog posts, and other life-enriching catalysts.

My biography
My desire to serve you probably began when I became a follower of Jesus during my university years.
I practiced law for over 25 years while teaching regularly in churches, colleges, retreats, and other venues. In 2003, I accepted an invitation as a pastor-teacher in Metro Vancouver, Canada. Since then, it has been a full and interesting time.
Now, I serve with Outreach Canada Ministries with a focus on making disciples.
Over the years, I completed an M.A. in Biblical Studies at Regent College (Vancouver) and a Doctor of Ministry at Trinity Western University. My doctoral thesis was at the intersection of leadership, conflict, and spiritual formation.
My core beliefs
Occasionally, I am asked questions such as “What denomination do you associate with?” This is often asked to understand my doctrinal position and practice.
Over the decades, my circle of fellowship has widened to many denominations. My personal history is in the evangelical movement in Canada, although I have friends and companions in other “camps.”
I have been serving with Outreach Canada Ministries for over a decade and heartily endorse its statement of faith.
